Automatic Refresh warning or error messages on Windows Server 2012 or 2012 R2

On one of my servers running Windows 2012 R2, I started getting the following warnings or errors upon launching the Server Manager

Expanding the Notifications flag and double-clicking on Task Details, you get the following warning message.

This is usually due to a corrupt event log.

To determine which event log is the culprit, you will need to go through and load each event log in the Event Viewer.

The event log that contains the error will throw a Query Error, and let you know the specific log that contains the error.

Once you find out the logs that have errors, you will want to delete them from the registry.

WARNING: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, please make sure that you back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

In our scenario above, I backed up my registry, and deleted the Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic log from the registry at location below

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT

Once deleted, I closed out the Event Viewer, and relaunched it, and I no longer received any query error for any of the event logs. Relaunching the Server Manager also refreshed successfully, and I no longer had any errors or warnings.
